The Ronkonkoma Station is a Long Island Railroad (LIRR) hub station in Brookhaven, New York. Located on a 10.3-acre site, this station includes 400,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, and a 1,000-car parking garage. The station house features slate roofing, exposed timber framing, wood interior finishes, and brick walls and floors. Exterior architectural details include prominent eyebrow dormers, copper weathervanes, and cupolas, as well as a clock tower that accentuates the commuter plaza. This $20 million project became a model for MTA and LIRR transportation centers.
