MUPPETS STUDIOS

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

This five-story townhouse in New York City was home to the the design studios, offices, and conference/video facilities for the Jim Henson and the Muppets. This project included major renovation of all floors of the building, as well as restoration of the exterior. The basement was lowered, and this new space became the Muppets Studios, where Kermit, Miss Piggy, and their friends evolved. Exterior courtyards, viewed from the studios via skylights, were added, as well as an architectural stair from the main entry floor to the lower-level work area. The upper floors were dedicated to creative offices, conference work areas, and administrative offices.
